Sister Drawing House
Sister Drawing House was a collaborative work made by myself and my sister Fiz, for the summer show at Counihan Gallery in Brunswick 2021. "Camilla and I met regularly to talk and draw on the house. We discussed our childhood, family history, and our relationship to each other and to this country. The house - almost big enough to be a cubby house - contains these discussions and the drawings act as a record of the experience. We used coloured pencils and the drawings are abstract, child-like and created without a plan - we regularly swap drawing areas and draw over and through each other’s work. Tensions - both visual and emotional - arise and are resolved in a continuous cycle as we draw and talk." - Fiz Eustance, November 2021
